- Chainlink fencing at the Shotley Gate play area had now been repaired. The new bin and refitting the gates will follow the review of a report from RoSPA about our play areas which raised some safety concerns to be actioned.
- The clerk had held a very successful meeting of Coopers Close allotment holders. Progress includes the clearing of undergrowth to create new plots.
- The PC decided to increase allotment rent for the first time in approx 25 years.
- Recommendations were sought for a local person or group in the Parish worthy of public recognition through the Community Achievement Awards.
- A grant to the Shotley Rose Bowls Club was agreed.
- Section 106 monies relating to Bathside Bay will be investigated. <latest update>.
- HMS Ganges - a letter had been received from the Suffolk Preservation Society. Babergh's Ganges newsletter was also noted. Fuller discussion at the November meeting.
- There were no objections to planning applications re
3 Gate Farm Rd; Holly Cottage, Church Walk and
19 Garden Close.
- The Responsible Finance Officer gave a report (see minutes). The Council currently has over £41,000 in reserves.
- The Clerk will write to Suffolk County Council regarding the vandalism caused to the non-slip surface fitted to the bridge at Golden Wood.
- Concern was raised with Cllr Hooper about
bins and vehicles parked on the pavement outside a property in The Street, causing obstruction and damage to a fence. Clerk to follow up with letters and approaching PC Garrod.
- The alleged overcrowding of chickens at Bull Field allotments had been raised by parishioners. To be followed up.
- Some issues were deferred to the November meeting due to low attendance by councillors.
