THE SHOTLEY BLOCK BUILT BUNGALOW PROJECT The two disabled-adapted two-bedroom bungalows at 86 and 88 Kingsland have now been completed and handed over for letting by Suffolk Housing Society. Planning permission has been given to Iceni Homes for the three other sites identified for development in Kingsland. Iceni hope to start work at 45/47 Kingsland at the end of March. When the 3 bungalows have been built on this site, which should in in January 2009, work can start on the demolition of 18 Queensland, which will yield 2 more bungalows. Work on the site between 36 and 38 Kingland should start in September 2008. |

Babergh District Council announced the following on 6 September 2007: At Shotley the opportunity has arisen to redevelop one of the remaining block built bungalows at 18 Queensland , along with two adjacent smaller unmodernised bungalows in Kingsland to provide 5 new bungalows. The scheme is currently being worked on by Iceni Homes, along with a further three bungalows on two vacant plots next to 36/38 and 44, Kingsland. A planning application will shortly be made on these sites. Babergh are also pleased to announce that work will start soon on providing two disabled adapted 2-bedroom bungalows on the old garage site by number 84 Kingsland, Shotley. All these homes will provide much needed rented housing for local people. |
