| STOP PRESS! Shotley Parish Council thanked the volunteers who turned out to collate a survey of the litter dumped/washed up on a section of Shotley beach. 22 bags of rubbish was collected. Unusual items included a saw, toilet seat (with lid), screwdriver and a pair of waders! | |||
Shotley Parish Council is pleased to be participating in this years Beachwatch, on Saturday 15 September, at 10am to 12 noon. We would very much welcome volunteers to help onthis litter pick, which is being combined with the second Tidy Up Shotley event. Several organisations and individuals have already come forward - it is a fun and worthwhile activity, and is well organised and safe. Pickers, gloves, bags provided but if you have your own feel free to bring along. We are also carrying out a survey of the litter dumped/washed up on the beach. There are three options for you to join: 1) Beachwatch itself, coveing from the pier westwards for approx 100 yards. Meeting point: Sailing Club. 2) Tidy Up Shotley Gate, meeting point: Kirkton Close green 3) Tidy Up Shotley Street, meeting point: Village Hall. |
