Penny Clarke and Tony Roberts are elected as our two District Councillors!

 
Votes cast in Berners ward:
  • Penny Clarke (Liberal Democrat): 802
  • Tony Roberts (Liberal Democrat): 762
  • Richard Clive Searle (Conservative): 410

The Babergh District Council elections will be held on Thursday, 3 May 2007.

For Shotley & Erwarton (covered by Berners ward), there are two seats. The candidates are as follows:

 
  • Penny Clarke, Liberal Democrat, of Tudor Cottage, Lower Street, Stutton, IP9 2SQ
  • Tony Roberts, Liberal Democrat, of Swallowfield,
    Erwarton, IP9 1LJ
  • Richard Clive Searle, The Conservative Party Candidate, of 4 Samford Place, Sproughton , IP8 3BH
 
 

Polling hours on May 3 will be from 7am until 10pm,.at the village hall.

The official count is taking place on May 4 and the winning candidates will be posted on this website as soon as possible after being declared.

 

The election of councillors for Shotley Parish Council is uncontested, as there are eight nominations for nine seats. The new council will be made up of:

  • David Edward Armes
  • Norman Geoffrey Bugg (existing cllr)
  • James Arthur Catling
  • Michael Connell (existing)
  • Tony Ingram
  • Mel Matthews (existing)
  • Jeremy Nicholas Peters (existing)
  • Graham Steel (existing)
