After some considerable time and a few hiccups, Shotley Gate has at long last got its children’s play equipment! Approximately eight years ago the money to purchase the land was raised by the village through donations and pledges to ‘SHARP’, (SHotley Action Re Play). The
land has now been passed to the Parish Council to maintain as a children’s
play area and now that all the legalities are settled, the council has
been able to carry out SHARP’s original intention. The Parish Council is now looking at providing something in both places for th e older children/young people of the village and are looking for ideas from them via the Youth Forum (enquiries about the Youth Forum to Mel Matthews at matthewsandco@aol.com or 01473 788349) Shotley Parish Council. |
