Shotley Gate community comes clean

As part of Spring Clean Suffolk Week, a group from Shotley Sailing Club quickly organised a tidy up around Shotley Gate.

Ten adults and one child borrowed equipment from Babergh District Council and spent 2½ hours on Saturday 18 March, managing to clear the litter from 'public' spaces around Shotley Gate.  This netted about 30 bin liners full plus some old bits of ironmongery!

The Parish Council and the rest of the community are very grateful for their efforts.

Although five new litter bins were installed around Shotley Gate and Shotley Street recently, the next meeting of the Parish Council will consider this issue at their meeting on 20 April.

The Parish Council also employed a new part-time litter warden for Shotley Gate, who will shortly commence weekly litter picking.
