Are you interested in supporting our community to provide emergency medical response assistance until the emergency services can arrive?

It is proposed to set up a scheme that covers Shotley and Shotley Gate, to start in April 2007. .

Full training will of course be provided.

What level of commitment is required?

As much or as little as you can provide, the idea is to cover the area for the 'out of office hours' on a rotational basis. This can be organised on a weekly or nightly rotation depending on the
availability and numbers of volunteers. Other schemes that work in our locality have settled on a weekly basis.

We would not be called to road traffic accidents but to emergency
situations in the home that may require the use of medical equipment such as defibrillators, heart monitors etc for which the appropriate training would be given.
