The Parish Council has been awarded a grant of up to £25,000 towards the cost of implementing the Parish Plan.
A number of recommendations in the Plan relate to the work of village organisations. Your organisation is invited to apply for a grant from this fund for projects that you are doing or may wish to carry out before the end of March 2007.
To be eligible your proposal must fit one or more of the objectives of the Local Strategic Partnership, who have provided the funds, and the priorities in the Parish Plan:
Building Community Capacity
Training for your members or volunteers, buying equipment, reaching out to hard to reach groups for example specialist equipment for people with disabilities, projects to recruit new members or volunteers.
Meeting the needs of Young People
Attracting young people into your organisation or helping them take a more active role, special projects to meet the needs of, or that involve young people.
Economic Development
Vocational training for your members or volunteers, projects that will improve tourism in the area including protecting and enhancing the built and natural environment, projects that involve local businesses.
To apply your organisation will need to complete an Application for Funding form. You will need to state whether you are applying for over or under £500. The application can be for the total cost of your project or for a contribution towards the cost. If you require a form, please contact me.
The Parish Council has appointed a Parish Plan Implementation Board who will assess your application and make recommendations to the Parish Council. If you would like to discuss your ideas with one of the Board members please let me know and I will make the appropriate arrangements.
It is hoped that decisions on grants will be made at the meeting of the Parish Council to be held on the 15 of June 2006 . Please therefore ensure your completed form is returned to me by Friday 26 May 2006 at the latest. DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 1st JUNE!
