| Community Beat Officers have now been replaced by the Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT). The one for this area is called Babergh East SNT. (See press release) |
 |
| |
|
Your Safer Neighbourhood Team is made up of Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers, Special Constables, Council staff, community partners and volunteers.
The ethos behind SNT is to work closely with the community and their partnership agencies to tackle local problems of concern. They'll want to find out what most affects your quality of life, whether that's anti-social behaviour, graffiti, noisy neighbours or crime. Then we can help to try and solve these problems, to create neighbourhoods that are safe and feel safe.
Our SNT is based at Capel Police Station.
Below are links to specific information on the Babergh East Safer Neighbourhood Team website. Please look through it and contact them for further information. The contact details are shown first. |

Message
It is important that ALL crimes are reported to the
Police and recorded by the Police, not only can this build up
a picture and pattern of events it can also assist in the deployment
of Police Officers in your Village. If incidents are not reported
it can give the
impression that nothing is happening in the Village! We all know
that this is not true, so please take the time and effort to report
matters either when they are happening or when it comes to your
attention.

The clocks have gone forward, the evenings are lighter, with luck the
weather will improve. Many of us will drive to the country, or to the
sea front and go for a good walk. It is relatively rare to become a
victim but there are some who will take this opportunity to break into
cars parked in isolated locations.
When leaving your car remember to remove all valuable or attractive
items and take them with you. Put other items out of sight in the boot
or elsewhere. Something ordinary like a coat may be attractive to a
thief. And finally remember to lock your car when you leave it.
Suffolk is a beautiful county, please enjoy it safely.

There have been instances across the county of metal thefts, including removing lead flashing from roofs and copper piping from buildings under construction. Prices for scrap metal have recently risen and there may be more similar thefts in the future. If you see any suspicious activity where you think a crime is being committed please ring 999 straightaway.
