Annual Parish Meeting 2008

The Annual Parish Meeting is an opportunity for all groups in the Parish to let the rest of us know what your group has been doing over the past year and what your plans are for the future.

You may wish to bring a display; recruit new members or just let the village know what you have achieved in the last year. It is a friendly and informal meeting and refreshments will be available.

Most village groups were represented last year and organisations will again have an opportunity to present either a brief verbal or written report on their recent activities. PowerPoint and projection facilities will also be available if required.

The meeting also offers the opportunity for any group to put forward a request for financial aid from the Parish Council.

The Council sets aside a sum every year for the support of any local groups that need it, and the Annual Meeting is your opportunity to come along and state your case! The money comes from your Council Tax contributions so this is your chance to get at least some of it back!

If you do intend to apply for funds at the meeting, it would be appreciated if you could contact the Parish Clerk beforehand and you can be forwarded a grant application form.

Also at this meeting the Shotley Parish Council Community Achievement awards will be presented.
