Shotley Community Primary School Parents and Friends Association (PFA)

Shotley Community Primary School Parents and Friends Association (PFA) are a group of volunteers. We meet approximately 6 times a year to discuss the upcoming fundraising events.

We currently have 16 members including a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Teacher's Representative and Governor's Representative. We are always interested in welcoming new people to the committee.

Throughout the year the PFA arrange events for the children and everyone involved with the school. These events are principally about raising money for school projects, but also about having fun and contributing to the social life of the school.

Forthcoming events

• Christmas Bazaar, 3.30pm - 5pm.  Attractions include Father Christmas, raffle, refreshments, crafts for kids and lots of Stalls.  Admission 50p (children are free).

Previous events include:

• Sun 8 July 2007, Summer Fayre, 12 - 3pm. Come along and have a great day out. <more>
• Sat 19 May 2007, Jumble sale, Shotley School , 11am-1pm. lots of bargains, home made cream teas, raffle
• 1 Dec 2006: Xmas Bazaar at Shotley School. 3.30 till 5.0. Stalls, games, Father Christmas and refreshments. Come and join in the fun.
• 18 Nov 2006: Shotley School PFA Jumble Sale, 11am - 1pm. Fill a bag provided for £1, raffle, books, linens, bric-a-brac, clothes, videos, bags, shoes. Home made cream Teas and refreshments available.
• Book sale in the school hall for the week of 2 to 6 October 2006, from 3.15-3.45pm. Literally hundreds of books for sale all at 10p each. Everyone welcome
• Summer Fayre 9 July 2006, 12 noon to 3pm
• Jumble Sale 20 May 2006
• St. Georges Disco 21 April 2006
• Valentines Disco 9 February 2006

Events that took place in 2005 were:

• Valentines Disco
• Many sessions of Bums & Tums (aerobics)
• Jumble Sale
• Midsummer Disco
• Summer Fayre
• Back to School Disco
• Halloween Disco
• Christmas Bazaar

We also do stalls at other village events where we sell books, sweets and do games.

Some of the money raised at these events has supported:

• A new carpet in the Library
• Transport to sports tournaments
• Money for each class to spend on extra resources
• Lights for the Christmas productions

In the near future we would like to buy the school an outdoor shelter.

Shotley School PFA would like to thank everyone who helped with their Summer Fayre 2006 .  A total of £1,200 was raised towards the funding of an outside classroom/drama area/dining area.
