Starfish Holiday Club

Update 15 April 2008

The Starfish Holiday Club is having a giant jumble sale and raffle on Friday 30 May 2008 at 4.00pm in Stutton Primary School.

Please note it is a Friday so that the children who attend the club can be in charge of the afternoon and, as well as having fun, can raise money to pay for a coach to take them to Pleasurewood Hills in the summer holidays.

You could take the opportunity to turn out those cupboards and let us turn your jumble into "coach miles".

The first raffle prize is a meal for two at East Bergholt 's fine food
restaurant, The Haywain, and the second prize is a hamper of fruit and
vegetables from Rookery Farm Shop, tickets are for sale all week from the club, for further details why not visit our web page? http://www.starfishclub.co.uk or ring 07877 59 89 23.

Update 29 February 2008

The club continues to be a success in terms of providing a safe, stimulating play environment for children during the school holidays.

This is evidenced by the increase in the number of children we have had accessing the service over the last year. We are committed to promoting “green” issues, recycling and care for the environment and have a programme linked to these themes for the next six months. During February half term we had two art workshops using recycled goods and a visit from two recycling officers from Babergh District Council.

For a detailed programme of activities during Easter and May school breaks please visit our web site, www.starfishclub.co.uk or e mail us at starfishholidayclub@yahoo.co.uk . Jane Gould.

Update 20 January 2008

For February half term only we are offering a free half day session to any children and young people who have not used the club before; this is to give prospective users a taste of the activities we do and so that you can experience for yourselves all that is on offer. Places will be limited so to secure your place, either on the special offer or, if you are a regular member, please ring 07877 5989 23 or e mail starfishholidayclub@yahoo.co.uk  if you would like to know more about the club and for details of the activities in half term week please look on our web page www.starfishclub.co.uk. Don't worry regular users there will be a special offer for you in May half term, so watch out for details of it !!  Jane Gould.

Update 12 August 2007

For the first five weeks of the summer holidays children from a wide catchment area were engaged in a large variety of workshops, outings, art and craft activities and sports events. The club was fortunate enough to have a team of enthusiastic and capable volunteers who worked alongside the play workers making the time we spent together a very positive experience for everyone involved. We had many new members and many who have been with us for a number of years who are always keen to return.

The next time we will be “open for business” will be the week of October half term and I am already putting together a programme for that week and for the Christmas holiday period.

If you would like to know more about the club please look on our web site www.starfishclub.co.uk and to make bookings either phone 07877 5989 23 or e mail us at starfishholidayclub@yahoo.co.uk.
